The Rejection Theory

Maybe if I Smile
In a while
He’ll fall in love
With my faint call
For attention
Or
Maybe if I close my eyes
And I silence my cries
He’ll love me
See me
For a moment as a woman
Or
Maybe if I slave away
To make his day
He’ll want to love me
Instead of taunt me
For my imperfections
Or
Maybe I’ll get tired
Of his hired lovers
He’ll never love me
Because to start
It takes heart
For a man at least
Or
Maybe he’s not a man
Just a bad thought
He’ll realize could never love me
Above all it’s frightening
For a girl to be so in love
Or maybe not
