The Reality in Fairy Tales

A prince you say

will sweep me off my feet

but only one day

will I find that out to be a lie.

A prince more like a frog

with shallow like words

that roll off his sly tongue.

For I am no princess

a heel more like a sneaker,

and a dress for me is

more like ripped denim and a white t-shirt I see.

My prince will be a man with no title

as I will have none either.

And he will not slay a dragon,

but he will save me from never-ending debt.

And now you see there is no fairy tale

honey you're living in the real world.
