Real Encounters

Our bodies one day will be viewed instead of computer screens
like the papyrus of the Egyptians or of Sumer
I don't mean in tattoos or as piercings
Or rouge or like eye shadow
One day people will be funny by being
themselves, intelligent by being their
original self, that no one will seek a
comedy club or live concert venue
for their entertainment
The muses will travel down into the
bodies of those who become empty
channels for them.
Poetry, music, art will become isolated
communal gatherings.
The celebrity
the God like immortality of them
will be seen through
As not the ambrosia
we took as table scraps
for our walls
Our bodies and personalities
will be more sought after
than television in this distant future
I have hoped for this to come,
Reading like the papyrus scrolls found
inside the unearthed clay vessels
Learning new brings exist
that were hidden away to all
the modes of superficiality
that we succumb to in this age.
