Reading for Breakfast

Sun, 10/16/2016 - 22:45 -- LS0407

The blaring alarm breaks through the daze,

And the sun shines through the window in a golden haze,

The birds are chirping in a frantic melody,

And my first thought of the morning is "being up this early should be a felony,"

But rise from my bed to face the day,

Because, when it comes to reading, I do not delay,

Reading is the only breakfast I require,

And the only one I would ever desire,

By delving into worlds with fantastic beasts,

I learn new stories upon which my mind feasts,

It is because of reading that I rise in the morning,

For a day that begins with a book can never be boring.
