The Ray of Hope

When troubles come and life brews up a storm,
Though lightning strikes and crashing waves grow high,
Once calm to stormy waters they transform,
When thunder shakes and lightning fills the sky,
I gasp for breath as tides pull me to sea,
My sins surround and try to drown me fast,
Like lightning bolts, my miseries strike me,
The churning storm prepares to send its blast,
Until the single ray of hope shines bright,
It lifts me far above the stormy realm,
Into the arms of Christ, who is my Light,
Whose depths of love and care can overwhelm,
His love and joy and peace fill up my soul,
‘Till all that I can do is serve Him whole.
