Today it rains and rains and rains

as it did the night before

as it will do tomorrow.

and i can see each drop

steadily falling with purpose

to that cold and unforgiving pavement

And i start thinking about

how much i envy the rain and its steady fall

cause even if that pavement doesn't give

the rain does.
