The Rain

People whisper their greatest fears

Down the crevice of my ear

Of how the things they truly lack

Can be found, but not brought back

Tears from things I’ve thought upon

Rush down quickly until they’re gone

Although, the thoughts are always near

The cold feelings disappear

Until my leave of undue death

I shall never waste my breath

For, things I heard and things I’ve said

Will still be here when I’m dead

Think of how life can be lost

With stolen memories as the cost

Yet, every word written down

Can easily come back around

So, if these words are left with you

You know what you must do

They must somehow reach all ears

As if my body was still here

For, souls can live after life

Without their bodies or their strife

And their dreams can live on too

Intertwined with parts of you

So, when you think your love is lost

Beneath the wind and the frost

Just take a look into the glass

And you will find thoughts from the past

Things aren’t lost forevermore

Like, when you see rain start to pour

The sky will open right back up

But rain will have to fill the cup

Every balance is delicate

And when it breaks- do not fret

For, love is here and here to last

To fix broken shards of the past

So, if you look into your cup

You’ll see our love has filled it up

Then you will feel what it's like to grin

And it will last longer than the end
