Rain

How beautiful is rain

Dark and gray

Chills in the soul

Wrapped in a warm blanket

In a dim, dark house

Only with the light of a candle

Grays and blues and greens

Illuminated

By a small wisp of gold

The sound

A strange lullaby

Whispering of darkness

Nightmares of witches

Dreams of far rocky lands

The rumble of thunder

How beautiful is rain

In a misty land

With humid air

Warm, dark, and soft

When the heart is alone

And the soul whispers

Of things of old

Things not mentioned

Words unspoken

From long ago

Remembered by the rain
