Racism: A Vicious cycle
Racism, a blight upon our world,
A poison that has been unfurled,
Injustice, hatred, fear and pain,
A vicious cycle that we must restrain.
It starts with prejudice, a simple thought,
A judgement made without being taught,
It leads to discrimination, an ugly deed,
A rejection of others based on their creed.
Racism is the act of dividing,
Of placing one above the rest and deciding,
That some are worthy, while others are not,
That some can succeed, while others cannot.
It's a cycle that repeats through time,
A disease that infects the human mind,
And as much as we try to rid ourselves of it,
It persists, like a stubborn myth.
But we must not give up the fight,
For racism is not an inherent right,
We must educate, and we must learn,
We must treat each other with respect, and earn.
For in the end, we are all the same,
All human, with a heart and a name,
And until we can see each other as such,
Racism will continue to haunt us much.
