The Race Against Time

The Race Against Time

It has been a race against time

Ever since you have been diagnosed.

The change has been dramatic in such a short period of time.

You went from cooking for an army with all of those tasty recipes passed down from generation to generation.

Now you don’t even know how to cook a piece of toast.

Struggling every day not even able to keep your balance.

Every time we visit it is like you have lost another piece of the puzzle known as life.

It was a race against time

since the minute we saw you stroking out

Knowing you were on the verge checking out.

Our eyes filled with tears we could barely see as we raced you down that old dirt road.

Pleading with god for a miracle to keep you alive, screaming and begging him not to take your life.

We didn’t care about the laws we were breaking speeding as fast as we could as long as we got you to the hospital safely.

Spoiler alert….. we didn’t make it.

It was a race against time.

Time still remains undefeated.

I will miss you forever mom

Through your kids your heart will keep on beating.
