Purpose

Oh God, what is my purpose?
I look around and see that you've ordained a purpose to everything around me.
But God, what is my purpose?

I see the sky and how it holds the sun, moon and stars. I see how it changes from day to night.
But God what is my purpose?

I see the trees growing tall blowing in the breeze, how they help give us oxygen to breathe.
But God what is my purpose?

I see the birds in the sky, flying so high, singing their songs of joy.
But there's one thing I don't get God, what is my purpose?

I see the ocean and its depths, how it knows when to move into the tide and when to move out.
But God, what is my purpose?

I see animals, how they know what to do, when to leave for warmer places. How they know where they belong.
But there's one thing I don't know God, what is my purpose?

I see people with fortune and fame. I look in my pockets and not a dime to my name.
If wealth isn't it then what is my purpose.

When I thought all hope was lost God said this to me:
Set your affections on things above and not on this earth. Give glory and honor to me, so that I may see your worth.
My Child, this is your purpose.

You are to hear and obey my words. And to go out and spread what you've heard.
My Child, this is your purpose.

Come out from among them, them who trap and back-bite and will lead you to sin.
My Child, this is your purpose.

You are to be a light in a dark place.  And lead the sheep that I have lost unto my grace.
My Child, this is your purpose.

Let no one turn you away because you are young. For you are my workmanship, created in my Son, and before the creation of the earth, I set it as done.
My Child, this is your purpose.

Now, God I know what my worth is.
