The Promise Broken

Mon, 07/07/2014 - 18:08 -- rhbazzi
We made our promise long …long ago
In our own place and time
We promised to never leave in our hearts
To help each other and be there for one another

But you left the promise broken
Your soul left mine and now I live half a life
How, I wonder, can a person live without their other half?
You were my other half, the other part of my soul and heart

But you left the promise broken
The pain was hard and life kept moving.
The promise you kept until those last breathe
When you told me “I Love You”
And that was the broken promise that soon broke my heart.
