Proceed with caution as you journey
On the exploration of the real me.

 Eyes open.

What do they see?

What do they see when their eyes gaze at me?

Young, black, in her twenties.
Short, full figured, with some kind of style or taste.
Mid-length hair to match her complexion.
All smiles to avoid receiving rejection.

What do they see when they gaze at me?

Educated, confident, dedicated, focusing on her career to get out her current situation.
Bright eyed young woman living in this generation.
Loyalty to the end that will go to all odds for a friend.
Family orientated, religious devotions and old fashioned costumed.

That's what they see when they see me.

Eyes closed.

Listen to me so that you can see the real me.

Yes I am all those things that you say you see.
But I go deeper than what the human eye can see.
I've been a woman who had to grow into her own skin.
Do you know what it feels like to see yourself and not love what you see?
I've hid behind so many masks I've been too afraid to reveal.
Sometimes I lack confidence but the mask of confidence is what I yield.
"High esteemed!" I scream aloud while my esteem hides behind a shield.
I put up this wall for my own protection but inside I want to let it down to give out all my affection.
My heart reaches to so many of you but trust will always be an issue.
I've been 'Built Ford Tough' to avoid the pain so even when I'm hurt you only see strength through the window pane.
I've had both failures and accomplishments both blessings and curses.
I've had anger issues, depressions, fear of rejections, parental divorces.
I've been through weight loss and weight gain.
Had love losses and unhealthy strains flow in and out of my veins followed by medications to help relieve the pain.
I'm not easily broken though I may appear to be.
I've been through whatever you can think of but it developed this thick skin you see.

Eyes open.
What you should see now when you see me?

Someone who's not afraid to tell you what struggles they've been through.
Every obstacle is a lesson and a test of
your mental..
Your physical..
Your emotional
State of being.
I dont mind telling you what I've been through so I can tell you how it gets me to where I need to be.
I don't have to hide behind a mask or a curtain for you all to finally see the real me.
You will know it from my tone when you hear my voice and proceed to hear me speak.

Proceed with Caution.
