The price of ignorance
The darkness set upon the town,
And cold engulfed the lonely streets.
No trace of humans left around
For they were sleeping 'neath their sheets.
So unaware about the danger
Awaiting out into the dark;
Their sense of peace was even stranger,
Seeming to welcome the attack.
The parents resting in their room,
Dreaming away into the night;
They didn't know about the doom
Lurking cunningly out of sight.
But when they wake the morning after,
It will be far too late, indeed;
For they would witness the disaster
Of no more having kids to feed.
And as the darkness sets once more,
The humans go on with their lives
As if not noticing the gore,
The deaths of kids in which he thrives.
