Pray to Make Peace

Location

To the violence in the Middle East,

I pray to God to make peace.

To the violence in the city streets,

I pray to God to make peace.

Over and over men and women breathe their last breath.

From violence comes bumps and bruises till death.

Among the cold, tense silence

There is fighting and violence.

The much too common gun shot

Kills more often than not.

Their bodies lie still with the dust.

Finding peace on earth is simply a must.

All of the shadows left behind,

Lost, not forgotten, keep in mind.

Children left at home alone

Waiting for their mother or father to come home.

They wait and wait while days go by.

They cry and cry until their tears run dry.

To the violence in places of war,

I pray to God to make peace.

To the violence among the sick and poor,

I pray to God to make peace.

Over and over men and women breathe their last breath.

From violence comes bumps and bruises till death.

A civilized world becomes the wild

When a mother has to bury her own child.

She is filled with sadness and grief.

But mostly anger at the brutal violent thief.

Murderers are thieves who steal not possessions but lives.

Fathers, mothers, husbands and wives.

Family and friends are shot down dead.

Using concrete and dirt for their death bed.

Instead of tearing so many lives apart,

People need to stop…and think with their heart.

To the violence all over the world,

I pray to God to make peace.

To the violence between guy or girl,

I pray to God to make peace.

Over and over men and women breathe their last breath.

From violence comes bumps and bruises till death.

For violence to finally come to an end,

Look at the enemy, and make him a friend.
