I write to express the words I cannot say
I write to release the true words society decides to ignore
I write to stand up for what I believe in, even if I’m judged because of it
I write because as an African American woman I feel my words are less valued then others
I write to express the hurt and pain I have experienced throughout this journey called life
I write to release anger from those who have wrongfully hurt me, so I am able to forgive
I write and my emotions spill onto the paper like a relentless river expressing my unspoken words
I write to temporarily escape reality and voyage to any place my imagination takes me
I still believe the world can be a better place and the people in it , so I write..
