What is it that gives a word power

Is it the tone of your voice, the way you emphasize, and prophesize

Or does it come from your soul, pouring out every second, every hour

Inspired by famous speeches, we fall to our knees its only then we realize

What makes us as men and woman rise

Gives us power to bear arms to mend broken promises

Is it courage, family, or even God . . . maybe

It all starts with a word, a title that defines us

The title alone is powerful, it expresses how we feel

A gateway, leading straight into the dark void of our emotions

Being able to defeat millions, and inspire millions to inact a movement

The embodiment I describe is a poem

When you ask what poetry means

It is a way to express the dying shouts of my mind

the only thing able to bring imagination to life

to tell countless people that I do exist and I'm knockin' on societies door

Thats what a poem is to me

A rythmic story of my life

My voice to shout out that I'm free

To have the power to be relased from strife

I am power

Power is me

I live to write

And express all I can be
