Potential Energy
There's a young man who hopes and dreams
He'll become that successful engineer,
Even though right now it seems
Such a life is nowhere near.
There's a young lady who visualizes
The ecstasy of tremendous success,
Though now she is ostracized
By peers who disapprove of her dress.
I really think it's funny how
The "nerds" and "dorks" who take verbal beatings
Soon leave all of us saying, "Wow,"
And find themselves to be leading.
It's always the oddball,
The one who's often left alone
That ends up rising above all
To a pedastal solid as stone.
Now they regret taunting little Bobby
For his lofty ambitions,
Because now he's directing a business
On a clear and reachable mission.
Everyone mocked young Susan
For her proud professions,
But now her career as a leading designer
Has taught them all a lesson.
As unique human beings, we cannot afford
To fail to realize the power of planning,
For the idea that's often ignored
Can bring a rocky journey to a smooth landing.
We also must become aware of the fact
That all of our voices matter.
If we do not proceed to act,
Great visions will shatter!
There's a thing that lies within all of us.
I call it "potential energy."
Its activation is a must
If we desire to execute brilliantly.
So do not leave this Earth
Without fulfilling your purpose
You are of unimaginable worth
Let your greatness surface!
When that is done,
I promise you will not regret it.
The battle has been won;
Your potential has become kinetic.
