Pools of Green

Spring had just won

its battle with

a long dark winter

when our love

inhaled its first

breath of life.

We fought valiantly

side-by-side

against the cold

frigid air of winter.

But, It wasn't until the

sun shone brightly

upon our faces

that we could

see.

That I could see.

You had been by me

all the way.

And every day

since I have been

drawn to you like

I am drawn to

warmth of the sun.

I have breathed you

in like the

honey-suckle

flavored air of

spring.

I have stared

deep into your eyes

and found myself

lost within pools

of green.

The same green of

the leaves and the ivy

that grow and reach

up to the sky

Stretching out to

endless possibility

endless opportunity.

And that is what I see

in your eyes, those pools

of green.

Life and hope

that just keeps

reaching

that just keeps

searching

that just keeps

growing.

growing now,

inside of me.
