Poetry is Life.
It’s something like a fog,
My past before I wrote poetry.
I was a spunky schoolgirl, around 7 or 8 with a BIG personality.
So badly I wanted to release
My perspective,
Imagination,
All the stories and songs that I had to share…
But how?
And then came poetry,
The light that brightened my smile
The rhymes flowing out of my mind
In beautiful stanzas like a florescent scent being released from a flower-
A beautiful little flower
Dr.Seuss, Shell Silverstein, Roald Dahl
Their talented voices sang through my head.
Page by page my heart grew attached
So my collection of poems began to flourish
Consisting of my favorite poets and my own original pieces.
More and more
Inspiration grasps my heart, my soul
The warm release of freedom when I write is my comforting drive.
Poetry is a loving and living person.
Building me up when I’m low and always encouraging me to stand strong through the storm
A special listener, a great friend, and sometimes a reliable source for advice
Vacations, Friends, Family, School, God
And my first loves…
I scribble it all down, bringing life to new creations
Pen and paper act as my wand and magic
My passion and drive
And some day
Yes, one day
Not too far from today
I will touch the lives of others
With my passion for poetry
And give every reader the rush and excitement
That began an important part of my life
At 7 or 8 years old.
