When I think about the soldiers, I think about wars
I think about everything that happened behind closed doors
I think about the pain and suffering that they and their families had to endure
I think about the wives, husbands, kids, and grand kids because they were unsure
It is hard sometimes to see the families, who had to shed some tears,
While other families were really lucky and got to celebrate with beers
I know what it is like to lose somebody that you truly love
But they are looking down from heaven up above
As we get ready to celebrate our Veterans day,
I try to say thank you to every soldier who has helped pave the way
Every soldier who has served this country has really stayed true,
They fought for every American alive today; for the red, white, and blue.
For every veteran soldier who does not feel appreciated, I say thank you,
For everything that you have done and will continue to do
It is your willingness to put your life on the line against all hate,
You guys make this country what it is you make it really great.
