Staring at that clock

Five days of the week

Hearing your voice

I’m cut off when I speak

You say you know best

How is this fair?

You talk of help and aid

But inside don’t really care

I tremble shuffling in

And sigh striding out

Oh the lessons we could learn

If only you wouldn’t shout

Please teach us

For we want to know

Which path to turn

Which way to go

Don’t waste your breath

For the ones who ignore

Nurture the students

Waiting for an open door

Teach us to be hopeful

The most important part

Look not with evil eyes

But with an open heart

Why don’t you understand?

Dear teacher, please help us fly

We need less of the book

And more compassion, please try
