Playing to Compete

I stand there ready to compete

Looking at my opponents and how they appear to be

Looking right and looking left knowing that he is better than she

Then I stop and continue to look down at my feet

I'm trying to become a better me at this meet

But to win I need to focus, concentration is the key

To open loose, not be shy, and let myself free

It's time to come from under the covers and let loose of the sheets

Standing in the shadows of the girl on top

I'm searching for a way to shine my own light

Hoping and wishing things won't go curplop

Living each day knowing I have to fight

Moving foward each day, little by little as we creep

For life is a game we're only playing to compete.
