Pillows

Location

I like my independence.
I like knowing that I can
be on my own.
But I feel company
with body pillows -
but there's nobody
here -
just these pillows that I
own.
I sleep independently,
but I can't without the pillows
that are
shaped like bodies.
I'd be alone without them -
I'd be alone without these
pillows, which bring warmth
to my body.
I have two big pillows
that I put next to me
when I sleep.
I sleep believing that
you're next to me.
And instead of those pillows,
I wish it were you waking up
every morning
next to me,
because despite the
independence,
your morning touches
would give me the wings
to set me free.
