Is understanding
"Perspective" understanding?
Wouldn't it be great if instead of
"I resent the implication that men are violent
And the author of this deserves to be beaten."
Someone were to say
"I cannot say I have ever hurt a woman
But that doesn't mean it doesn't happen"?
How better would the world be if, rather than
"How dare someone write about apathy
Towards blacks; I didn't do it. Who cares?"
The common person said
"If we forget there was ever injustice
How can we stop it from repeating?"
But most of all, why must we think
"Why must these people be so shallow
And put themselves into issues bigger than them?"
When we ought to be feeling
"I'm glad these people can understand
Where we all fit into this world."
