Pay No Attention to the Girl in Front of the Curtain

Calm, cool, collected. On the outside.

Polite, proper, seen and not heard. On the outside.

Dressed to impress. On the outside.

But on the inside?

My thoughts go a mile a minute, I’m all over the place. I love it.

I’m polite always, seen definitely, not heard? Not so much.

Pay no attention to the person in front of the curtain.

That person is who I show because that’s what people want.

So, who am I really?

I’m a writer, a reader, an artist really.

Creative chaos is the world in which I inhabit.

I hide for now, an unfortunate truth.

But it won't be forever and I have proof.

My writing is my true self.

I release it in intervals before revealing the whole.

My words, my flow, that’s me to my core.

This is the me I want the world to know.

But as of right now, I’m just going with the flow.

It’s not a secret because that would hurt.

A physical pain, that just wouldn't work.

I’m hiding for now, biding my time.

But one day, that’ll be over.

My name will be on the covers of books.

I’ll make people smile with the stories I love.

Right now I am waiting behind the curtain.

Pay no attention to the girl in front.

The one in the back is the one that you want.

When the time is right, she’ll come to the front.
