From Past to Present
America was a vicious place for my ancestors. So why am I criticized and rebuffed for remembering what happened to them? For fighting still to make life better for my family? Forgetting their struggles, their existence is something that'll never happen. Sugar coating or erasing history doesn't change what went on to get us all to where we all are now. It doesn't erase the scars that pass through all of our generations. We are their children. Known as their legacy. For what I have now I owe them the respect to remember them and not squander my life.
