fond memory
of your smile
your laughter
your struugle
your character
always asking for me
looking for me
to talk about what went on in school
i made sure
we have that opportunity to talk
i always said to him
be yourself
be true to yourself
within a short period time
relationship we build was worth more a dime
wish there was more time
in that whole process, he was searching for
identity
acceptance
his true self
Concerning himself more
With fitting in
Rather than standing out
unfortunately
he found it at the wrong place
at the wrong time

after i left in 2003
a dear friend call me
to say
you remember pashad grey
i said "of course" i do
he was shot through a drive by
scrape memory
from my brain
it was 2004
inside, i recounted
all i knew of you
frightful night
a drive by
tinted windows rolled down
barrow of a gun
cocked and squeeze
shots rang
Pow pow pow!!!!!!!!!!
cars pass by
screeching tires spun and fled
pool of blood
spilled all over his body
nobody don't know who did it
images i bury
spirits of him still lives
you are in a safer place now bro
no one can never hurt you anymore
