Paradise

Location

When I wake up from my sleep,

I see spacious oceans so deep

And towering mountains so steep.

Is this paradise?

When I start to walk around

I hear an angelic sound;

In grace I had been drowned.

Is this paradise?

Angels were singing,

Everybody was grinning,

To hope I had been clinging.

Is this paradise?

Straight ahead was a majestic throne.

Everything else—it had outshone,

No such beauty had I ever known.

Is this paradise?

God stands above me.

I feel completely empty.

His presence is overwhelming.

Is this paradise?

He gently welcomes me in,

He knows of all my sin,

Yet his face still holds a grin.

This must be paradise.
