Paper birds dance round my head
And the moon casts striped shadows on my bed
She said she’d shine today
She said she’d shine today
I hole-punched cardboard trees to shreds
And the snow’s melting into red
Why did she go away
She said she’d shine today
Glass puddles crack in their despair
And Sour winds mess up my hair
That just ruined my day
She said she’d shine today
Plastic waves washed up my cares
I looked in the sand, there was nothing there
She didn’t shine today
That’s why I blew away
