Painful Promises

We had a love so pure, Souls and souls facing space and time; You and I, together, Hearts and souls facing emptiness. I would have loved you, forever, But our passion was just a figment; Always meant only a day, And forever meant only a minute. Our love is no more. I thought it was forever. Was there no pledge? I would have followed you always, Hearts and hearts heading for the edge. But our pulse was just a ghost, There was only darkness, It pains me to the core; And our passion is no more. True love you told me, Our bodies were bound. But our love, just a figment of truth, Bodies and souls that got tossed around. Our love, one of which you never believed, It destroys me to the core, Our hearts were decieved; And our souls, no more. We had a love so pure, Bodies and bodies facing darkness. You and I, together, Souls and hearts confronting the fog of war. I would have waited for you, forever, But our love was just a wish, unfilled. In our passion, there was only emptiness. It breaks me to the core, As I bid you farewell, Just know our souls shall be, nevermore.
