A Pained Planet

The Earth is our land
The provider of the roads
We call to travel on
Creator of the soil we use
To plant
And nurture
a host of abundant fauna
We depend upon its survival
It harbors the habitats we find shelter in
The seas and the beautiful oceans
The trees that photosynthesize
That breath oxygen
The ultimate sustainer of life
Yet our Earth is hurting
It's trees dissapearing
It's oceans being poisoned
Its ecosystems decaying
Species are leaving
One day they will all be gone
One after another
And what are we left with?
Our survival on this planet
Depends upon rescuing,
replanting the trees
and cleaning up the seas
This should be a bigger priority
For this is the only place in the galaxy
That can take care of our persistent needs
