Our Black Is Flawless

Location

Everyday when I step into the school environment, I am curious. Will any of my peers crack a semi-racist joke towards me? I sometimes regret being different...being black

But being black is not something I or anyone should be afraid of..for our black is beautiful and unique. Our black is flawless.

I love my dark caramel skin because it represents who I am.

Most people are quick to judge that being black regards you as dumb, uneducated and dangerous to the community when they don't even know your personality

Well I tell you today I am a determined African American woman who is smart as any other individual when it comes to tackling my academics or anything else life may throws at me

I am also a dreamer who desperately wants to give back to black female youth. I will start an organization to encourage a "sisterhood" among the girls so they build each other up intellectually and emotionally

So when these girls take on their daily activities, they'll carry the fullest amount of confidence on their shoulders. They'll have the fullest confidence on their shoulders as they enter their school or work environment.

Because being black is not something they should be afraid of, for our black is beautiful and unique..our black is flawless.
