Opposites

Sun, 10/01/2017 - 12:01 -- Alexie

She shines so brightly, like a star passionately burning

Endlessly, I find myself in her midst drowning

Of her beauty, her unforgettable smile

And her laughter, for that I'll walk a million miles

It's like she has her life under control

How does she do it? She just sets her goal,

In time, she achieves it, succession by succession

Yet compared to me, dealing with depression

I am part of that darkness beside, behind her

Never in front she'll outshine me better

Always in pain, giving up on life

All I need then is one slice from my knife

She's never going to know, since she shines so bright

And I am just darkness, the absence of light

She's never going to remember who I am, where I'm from

And what I've done. Now, it's my time to sink to the bottom
