Open Spaces

Time heals but kills everything too.

Lost and confused I know not what to do.

Where my home once was

there is a long nameless road.

The rivers and country side have all been sold.

Gone are the children, they've all gotten older.

Gone is every river, stream and boulder.

Sidewalks, skyscrapers, scenery covered in concrete.

Palm trees, paradise paved underneath the street.

Gone are the warm, smiling faces.

Gone are the flowers and wide open spaces.

Now I stand at the street on my own.

Changed is this world that I once had known.

Gone are the places and people I once knew.

Gone are the all the roses that once grew.

Sidewalks, skyscrapers, scenery covered in concrete.

Palm trees, paradise paved underneath the street.

Gone are the warm, smiling faces.

Gone are the flowers and wide open spaces.

I found myself on a highway that buried yesterday.

Before we walk that highway let's plant a seed today.
