An Open Letter to My Unborn Child

Your life was short.

You only knew me on the inside.

You knew me and your father.

You knew safety and comfort.

You knew love and excitement.

You knew warmth and tenderness.

You knew all that was good in the world.

You never heard a bad word, never fell and scraped your knee.

You never had your lunch money stolen, or had to eat alone.

You never saw sadness, or watched someones heart break.

Part of me is relieved that you never have to live through the bad parts of life, but the other part of me wishes I could share the joys and beauty of the world with your sweet innocent mind.

You will and always have been our little one. I am happy for your safety in the arms of your Creator, although I am sad you never knew the arms of your mother and father.
