I want to scream

I want to stand up for what is right

But I’ve been taught to love not fight

But sometimes you don’t get to choose

Sometimes it’s necessary to go against the lies

To show up and say 

“No, this is the truth. 

This is where hope lies.

This is how to stop the hurt, the pain, 

The hatred, and the greedy gain.”

I always said I will never be able

To make a difference

Not like they do

But I have to stop saying never

And start imitating

Not the selfish ambition of the greedy

But the loving and fighting for the needy
