One Last Dance

Who would have ever thought

that this love would start with

a night full of dancing.

That our love would burn as bright
as a summer sunrise.

That our two bodies would
become one in each other.

That a simple dance would
change how we saw each other forever,
but our love was never destined to last.

For as the sun rise, so shall it set.
It is just as bright but slowly begins to
fade into something less colorful.

A darkness with lights few and far between.
Glimmers of hope until the next sunrise.

So I will bid the passing love farewell
and rest until the sun shall rise again.
