One Last Chance

I didn’t know then and I can’t say that now,

I know all the ins and the outs or the how,

But I’m living and learning while still missing you,

And it seems pretty clear that you’re missing me too.

If your heart was a trophy I could win with a word,

I’d say it right now and once you had heard,

It’d be just the same as it was back before,

Before all the fighting and the lack of rapport.

If there was a reason for us not to be,

I’d give up this second if I thought it were true,

But the number of words I need is just three

To clear any doubt, and they are “I love you.”
