The One

Meeting you was no accident.
My love, it was surely fate.
From the moment I first saw you,
I knew you were worth the wait.

The broken hearts, the painful words
From those I let in close before you,
I don't regret a single bit
Because my heart was freed to adore you.

I never believed in fairy tales;
I thought those storybooks were lies,
Until I met my own Prince Charming,
Who still gives me butterflies.

You're so much more than looks,
Though that's what got me at the start.
But oh my gosh you're handsome.
You are a work of art.

You're my best friend,
My rock,
And my shoulder to cry on;
My forever date,
My other half,
And the one I can rely on.

We have our ups, we have our downs.
Of these things, we've had a lot.
But if you ask me if I'd change
A single thing, I would not.

God gave me you.
I always knew
This wasn't some ordinary thing.
In bed each night,
I dream it's right
That one day I'll wear your ring.

I fell in love with your smile,
And with the ways you show you care.
I love it when I get to run
My fingers through your hair.

Of all the beautiful things in the world,
Not one of them can compare
To me and you,
The things we've been through,
And this love we get to share.

Loving you is so easy.
Loving you is fun.
Loving you is worth the distance
Because I know you are "the one."
