Once Upon a Tombstone

Once upon a tombstone,

There lay a single white rose.

Of whom a stranger left,

Many years ago.

But this rose was quite odd,

For it never wilted or blew away.

It guarded the grave like a loyal dog or friend.

In rain or shine,

Through wind and snow.

This rose is my love for you.

Something that will never die.
