Once Giants

They were once giants

standing tall above everyone.

But every Goliath has his David,

and every Giant has his fall.

These soldiers, our troops, the American force

stood tall to protect those who needed it most. We used to worship them,

shower them

in not only praise, but with the benefits and the care that they so much deserved.

Then came a time, when their numbers dropped

and the support collapsed behind them.

WE collapsed behind them.

What kind of society neglects protectors, only to raise false prophets in their place.

THE MONEY IS MORE IMPORTANT. THE CARS ARE MORE IMPORTANT

To show respect... it's not enough,

because they need more than just our thoughts and prayers.

We need to change the way our troops are treated.

Give them the finances

and medical care

and equipment

that they are worthy of.

They were once giants, who took a giant fall.

Now.... it falls on US to lift them back atop
