Omuntu wa wansi

Omuntu wa wansi, silently cries,In Nansana wetland, under open skies. With agreements held tight in hand,Their dreams are shattered, unable to stand. The receipts from Buganda, the council's nod,Yet they face the wrath of an unjust god.Evictions storm through, hearts torn apart,While the big fish swim, untouched, with no heart. Homes once sturdy, now rubble and dust,Promises broken, dreams turned to rust.Omuntu wa wansi, left out in the cold,Stories of injustice, endlessly told. Omuntu wa wansi, with nowhere to go,Their pleas and their pain, the world must know. For the sickening truth in the shadows does hide,As the powerful tread, with arrogance and pride. Oh, where is the justice for omuntu wa wansi?Their lives dismantled, by forces so chancy.Worry and fear, fill the air thick,This tale of neglect, makes the heart sick. We cry for fairness, for equity's grace,To shine on these people, to brighten their place. For in their struggle, we see the soulOf a society that should strive to be whole. So listen, oh world, to their silent plea,For the omuntu wa wansi, let justice be.Let the tears of the poor be not shed in vain,May their voices rise above the disdain.
