Ode to Miscarriage

Tue, 01/21/2014 - 03:17 -- Marky19

Jacob was a guy about the size of a fly.

I don't know what to say but I can at least try

I look to the sky and let out a sigh

Wondering why he was made just to die

Perhaps named Ella, torn from her womb.

Never had a fright, never had a tomb.

Brilliant light redeems your random doom,

A lone lament is for your lonely groom.

Awed by thoughts of the two of us playing,

Dreaming of us three, growing and graying.

But you before Jules, Jake, I'm just saying,

A two-child max, her birthplace swaying.

Hey, are you there? If only you were here.

Julie doesn't let me hold her very dear.

Will your kind voice ever fill me with cheer?

Perhaps you live. Perhaps you disappear.

...

I hate to be brief, but time is a thief.

To Mark, oh brother, I really love you.

I miss you and think of you sometimes too.

Heaven's awful true, but don't come too soon

And please stay home on December thirty-two
