Ode to Life
Location
So tempting it may be
to break my own heart further.
But so beautiful it must be
to change the world.
I think that I could do it,
I think that I could even fly.
I know that I can do it,
but I don't know how to try.
So easy it is
to sit and watch the world float by.
But I wonder, what would it be like
to teach all the world to fly?
I sit upon my tears and think.
I must be strong, I decide.
I must be strong for those who need me;
I'll have the whole world on my side.
I sigh and think
that the last line is a lie.
But those I need will be with me;
the others will slide by.
I climb slowly upon my feet;
the dust leaves me behind.
And just the way the dust left me,
I drop my troubles and my sighs.
I pick up my pencil
and write this ode to you.
If I can learn to live again,
I tell you, so shall you.
