Poetry is about observation

Along with determination

To figure out your sensation.

Observation of the world around you,

What would I do if I had never found you?

Determination to say what you love

And to spread the wings given from above.

Sensation that you will find in life

Will give you your own light.

I was turning thriteen

When a notebook was given to me.

My teacher said, "May I suggest?"

"Writing poetry may be your best!"

So I took up my pen

And started to begn.

Before I could realize what just began,

I was beginning to start again. 

My teacher was thrilled!

I had found my fill.

Something that gave me a way

To have my own say. 

This is my life. 

Without, I would not suffice.
