Nothing Left
All she wants is for her eyes to be clean,
Yet, not erasing all the things that she’s seen.
Her teachers worry about her,
And her parents too,
The problem is they just don’t know what to do.
She tries to be happy, she really does try,
But that’s hard to do when all that she has left to do is die.
She has bad dreams all night, and is tired all day,
She screams in her head, because there is no other way.
She wants to be happy; she wants to be free,
She wants to be normal, but they won’t let her be.
She tries to work it out; she tries to make sense, But nobody gets her; she has no defense.
She receives no love, and has none to give,
She receives no love, so why even live?
She believes in nothing and no one anymore,
She has no where to be free, so she walks out the door.
She has no life,
She has no game,
She has no love,
She has no fame,
Her faith has run low,
And she doesn’t know where to go,
She can’t remember how to believe,
Since she has no place to go she decides to leave.
Of course, she came back,
She can’t run forever,
She’d have no money,
And she’d have no shelter.
Her home isn’t much of a home,
Her parents are hardly there,
But still, they continue to pretend that they care.
All she receives is hurt,
She doesn’t know why she’s treated like dirt.
She lies in her bed,
And thinks in her head,
Would everyone’s life be better if I were dead?
She keeps that thought as she goes into the kitchen,
She finds the drawer and picks up the knife,
But she knows that she could never take her own life.
