Not everyone can

Not everyone can,
Make it in this world,
She took my hand,
My little tan hand

She drew on her smile,
And appreciated my effort,
On my back for miles,
The labor or the effort

Thoughts of a just cause,
We're ignorant of ignorance,
No time for look and pause,
She couldn't believe I made it

So failed test,
With Dad's watch,
Couldn't prove the best
That hate was just in hiding
