Just lay on the bed 

With your arms hovered over you 

With an iPhone glued to the ends 

Titled sideways 

Eyes half way shut 

Trying to satisfy this virtual world 

After going through millions of selfies 

And only coming to one photo 

You edit it and change the lighting 

Just to the point no one will suspect a thing 

Then your sweaty finger moves

To the corner of the screen

That small life clenching moment 

"Post" 

The button quickly fades

You sit the phone down 

Trying to make your body believe 

That your not expecting anything

A few minutes later

Your Phone is glowing  

"One of your followers liked your picture"

Your so happy 

You want more 

And more 

And another like comes in 

Back to back 

All these people liking your picture 

Even the popular kids like them 

A message bubble pops up

Some one even left a comment 

You click the picture 

And read it with a smile on your face 

But slowely 

As you read it 

That smile turns into a grimace 

"Your ugly even without a filter" 

Your day is ruined 

Your mind is spinning with emotions

Your heart is shattered into pieces 

Your body is completely paralyzed

Knowing you

You start to "over-think"

The more you think 

The more you hate every inch of your self

You roll of the bed

Walk to the bathroom 

And wipe your eyes 

You look up at the mirror 

And see a  completely different person 

Than that pixilated mixmatch

On that small device 

"I am beautiful" 

You repeat to yourself 

You think 

"Why am I trying to be something I'm not"

You lean closer 

"Everyone try to look and act like what the internet proclaims beauty is"

You look over ever inch of your face

"This beauty they advertise... is all ... fake..."

You are beautiful 

Your face 

Figure 

Your personality 

Just 

Everything is so beautiful
