The night that was Red
The howling hiss of the night sky,
Ever Glowing embers in the distance,
Ashes falling like toxic snow.
Footsteps down the stairs,
And the silent cries of fear.
Counting off,
Is everyone here?
Driving down the street,
Cutting through the smoke,
Can’t see in front of me,
But don’t look back.
Sirens are silent,
No one can help,
The sounds of explosions echo in the distance,
Safety is unreachable.
Phone calls come in by the second,
Friends houses are gone,
People are missing,
The fire remains blazing,
My childhood is over.
